New Toll Charges at Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnels

Toll charges are being introduced at London’s Blackwall Tunnel and Silvertown Tunnel from Monday 7th April 2025 by Transport for London (TfL).

These new tolls will affect businesses that send goods into much of East, Central and North London from Kent, Sussex and South East London.

Just like the existing Dartford Crossing toll charge, the new Blackwall Tunnel and Silvertown Tunnel charges apply per crossing and apply in both directions. Therefore multiple crossings by the same vehicle on the same day will incur multiple charges by TfL.

Details of the scale of the new charges can be found on the TfL website https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/silvertown-blackwall-tunnels-charge.

In reality these new tolls are likely to add around the following amounts to Route One Distribution’s charges for affected London collections/deliveries:

  • £5.00 additional cost to each affected delivery made in a very small van
  • £10.00 additional cost to each affected delivery made in a medium or large van
  • £15.00 additional cost to each affected delivery made by lorry

Please rest assured that Route One Distribution will continue – with the support of its amazing customers – to provide courier and haulage services into and from London including those areas necessitating the use of the Blackwall and Silvertown Tunnels.
